About Sioux Falls Simplified

Smarter, easier local news

Sioux Falls Simplified is locally owned, and everything we do has this community in mind.

It’s not endless pages of shallow content with jargon-y descriptions mixed in with opinion pieces. It’s the headlines, bullet points and straightforward information you need to feel smart about the forces that shape Sioux Falls.

We tell stories about how our kids are educated, how our tax dollars are spent and introduce you to the cool people doing cool things to shape Sioux Falls’ culture and community.

Meet founder Megan Raposa

Hi, Megan Raposa here. I’m an award-winning journalist and a lifelong South Dakotan. I know Sioux Falls because I’ve lived, worked, played and started a family here. I know news because I’ve worked for more than six years as a journalist and freelance reporter, most recently as an editor for the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.

I founded Sioux Falls Simplified because I believe local news is the foundation of a strong community, and as Sioux Falls grows and changes, the local news scene has to grow and change with it.

What readers are saying

Nice and simple. I can quickly read through the entire newsletter in a minute or two.

When I’m looking for someone to give me the most reliable and accurate news, I look to Megan Raposa. Her ability to ask honest and thought-provoking questions makes for some amazing story-telling!
